FAQ
Am I allowed to get an Uber / Lyft / Taxi after surgery?
No. Please make arrangements for a responsible adult to drive you home after surgery. Taxi Transportation is only allowed for patients with an adult escort.
Can I continue taking my anti-inflammatory medications before surgery?
Please stop taking all anti-inflammatory medications 5-7 days prior to your surgery. This includes: NSAIDs, Aspirin, Blood Thinners, Vitamins, and Supplements.
Can I eat or drink prior to my surgery?
Do not eat or drink anything after midnight the night prior to your surgery.
Am I able to take my heart / blood pressure / breathing / seizure medication prior to surgery?
Yes, you may take your normal heart, blood pressure, breathing, or seizure medication the morning of surgery with a sip of water.
What should I do if I can't make my surgery appointment?
If you are unable to keep your surgery appointment time or are delayed, please contact the center at 954-900-3382
What should I bring with me?
Bring your driver’s license or ID card and health insurance cards with you. You may be asked to bring your co-pay/co-insurance/deductible.
What kind of clothing should I bring for post surgery?
Choose low-heeled shoes and loose, comfortable clothing that is easy to take off and put on. Sleeves and legs should be loose enough to fit over bandages.
Sling shirts are great to have post-shoulder or elbow surgery. You can find affordable options here.
Recommended clothing for shoulder/elbow surgery
Button up shirts or loose T-shirts, that are ideally a size or two above your usual size. Maxi dresses / sundresses, tank tops, and cut up shirts are also okay.
Recommended clothing for knee surgery
Sneakers, shorts, loose pants, or maxi dresses / sundresses. No leggings or tight pants.
