Dr. Martin Weaver is Orthopedic Specialty Institute’s Director of Orthobiologics. He is double board-certified in Sports Medicine and Physical Medicine & Rehabilitation.

Dr. Weaver received his Bachelor’s Degree from Yale University as a Science, Technology, and Research Scholar before completing his Medical Degree as a member of the charter class of Cooper Medical School of Rowan University. He performed his residency training at University of Miami, where he was elected Chief Resident and provided medical care for several teams and organizations including the Miami Marlins, U.S. Sailing, University of Miami Women’s Soccer, St. Thomas Aquinas High School Football, Miami Dolphins Cancer Challenge, and the Wodapalooza CrossFit Festival. He then continued his post-graduate training, completing a preeminent accredited Sports Medicine fellowship at Emory University, where he provided medical care for the Atlanta Hawks, Atlanta Falcons, Atlanta Dream, Ladies Professional Golf Association, Fan Controlled Football League, Atlanta Track Club, and Emory University. He also served as medical director for the athletics departments of Clark Atlanta University and Tucker High School. Since returning to South Florida, Dr. Weaver has served as the medical director for USA Pickleball tournaments and a consultant for Canada Basketball Women’s National Team, Nova Southeastern University collegiate athletics, and local high schools.

Dr. Weaver practices musculoskeletal and sports medicine with special interests in regenerative medicine, orthobiologics, and concussions. His approach focuses on the non-surgical and utilizes cutting-edge technology for minimally invasive treatment of orthopedic injuries, including the use of stem cell therapy, platelet-rich-plasma (PRP), ultrasound, and percutaneous ultrasonic tenotomy. He treats patients with orthopedic injuries of all age ranges and activity levels.

Dr. Weaver received a Diploma in Football Medicine by FIFA and is a certified CrossFit Level 1 Healthcare Professional Trainer. He is also involved in copious research in concussions, regenerative medicine, sports medicine, ultrasound, and minimally invasive procedures. As a testament to his work, he has received a George W. Northup Medical Writing Award, served as an editor for the American Journal of Physical Medicine & Rehabilitation, contributed to the American Medical Society for Sports Medicine’s Position Statement on the Principles for the Responsible Use of Regenerative Medicine in Sports Medicine, published in multiple national and international journals, and presented at numerous regional and national conferences.
